Appeared personally James Zebeede Turle of the Parish of Wilton in the County of Somerset A musician and Bachelor of the age of nineteen years but under the age of twenty one years and prayed a Licence for the Solemnization of Matrimony, in the Parish Church of Wilton in the County of Somerset and Diocese of Bath and Wells, between him and Mary Ann Godfrey of the Parish of Trull in the County of Somerset a spinster of the age of twenty years but under the age of twenty one years and made oath that he believeth that there is no impediment of Kindred or Alliance, or of any other lawful Cause, nor any Suit commenced in any Ecclesiastical Court, to bar or hinder the Proceeding of the said Matrimony, according to the Tenor of such Licence. And he further made Oath, that he hath had his usual Place of Abode within the Parish of Wilton, aforesaid , for the Space of Fifteen Days last past. And he further made Oath that the consents of the Fathers of the said James Zebeede Turle and the said Mary Ann Godfrey hath been obtained to such marriage

    1.      I Ann Godfrey of ill health but of sound mind do declare this to be my
    2.      first and last will and testament. I do give to my Son Mathew Forty
    3.      pounds to bring him up to a trade, I also give to William my Son
    4.      Thirty pounds to bring him up to a trade. And also I give to Mary my
    5.       Daughter thirty pounds. Also I give to Jane my Daughter Thirty Pounds and
    6.      Ten pounds to Henery my Son. Also I give to Louisa my Daughter
    7.      thirty pounds and five pounds for Thomas my son. I also leave
    8.      five pounds for Louisa my Daughter to find Henry in shirts and
    9.      stockings from this time untill a apprentice is out, my furniture
    10.     at Ruishton to be equally divided between Jane and Mary my two
    11.     daughters. And all my clothes ring and gold [fun?] I give to Mary

    There has just died at the residence of her youngest daughter in South-street at the great age of 88 years, Mrs Mary Ann Turle,widow of James Zebedee Turle, whose father was first cousins to James Turle, organist at Westminster Abbey. Mrs Turle was the daughter of Mr William Godfrey, a farmer, and was born at Comeytrowe Farm in the year 1818. She was married at Wilton Church by the Rev. Halliday, on New year's Eve, 1838, and for 62 years lived happily with her husband and children, celebrating her silver, golden and diamond weddings in the town. Her descendants (some of whom predeceased her) number 20 children, 84 grandchildren, and over 40 great grandchildren.

    DEATH AND FUNERAL OF MRS MARY ANN TURLE.-The funeral took place at St Mary's Cemetery on Thursday afternoon of Mrs Mary Ann Turle, who died last week at the residence of her youngest daughter in South-street, at the great age of 88 years. She was the widow of James Zebedee Turle, whose father was first cousin to James Turle, organist of Westminster Abbey. Mrs. Turle was the daughter of Mr William Godfrey, a farmer, and was born at Comeytrow Farm, in the year 1818. She was married at Wilton Church by the Rev. Halliday on New Year's Eve, 1838, and for 62 years lived happily with her husband and children, celebrating her silver, golden, and diamond wedding days in the town. Her descendants (some of whom predeceased her) number 20 children, 84 grandchildren, and over 40 great grandchildren. Her husband's death occurred some 6 years ago.The venerable old lady passed peacefully away in the midst ofher children. The first portion of the funeral service was conducted by the Rev. E. A. Ducket at Holy Trinity Church, the committal sentences at the Cemetery being said by the Rev. A. E.Claxton.
