The following PC's are suspended until further orders
PC Thomas Wallis  N div pay to 9th
PC Robert Turtle 4 div pay to 9th

Could this Robert Turtle be Robert Turle? The '4' may represent the level of literacy where N means that he can neither read or write, and '4' or 'sup' indicates a superior education above being able to read and write well. He may also have been in 'L' division (Lambeth or M - Southwark). These records are police personnel records recorded in date order and I have found no entry for Robert Turtle being reinstated. There are many suspensions and dismissals recorded usually for being drunk or leaving their beat when they should have been on duty.

Is this Robert back to selling beer briefly between police and security type jobs?
