Morden College was founded in 1695 by Sir John Morden (1623-1708). Morden's aim was to found a college for 'poor Merchants...and such as have lost their Estates by accidents, dangers and perils of the seas or by any other accidents ways or means in their honest endeavours to get their living by means of Merchandizing'.It had its own burial ground.

  • Notice is hereby given, that the Partnership heretofore subsisting between us the undersigned, Julius Stern, William Evans and James Turle Kenward , carrying on business as Merchants and Importers, at 1 and 8 Carter-lane and 14 Old Change, both in the City of London, under the style or firm of Stern and Evans, has been dissolved, by mutual consent, as and from 1st day of January, 1894. All debts due to and owing by the said late firm will be received and paid by the said Julius Stern and William Evans, who will continue to carry on business at the abovementioned premises under the same style or firm of Stern and Evans. Dated this 19th day of February 1894.
