- Hannah Elmore was indicted on 20 June 1840 for stealing 2 pairs of stockings, value 1s. 6d.; 10 yards of calico, value 6s. 8d.; 6 yards of fringe, value 1s.; 2 yards of lawn, value 4s.; and 3/4 yard of dimity, value 1s.; the goods of Henry Collard Wraith, her master. Hannah was found guilty and sentenced to 6 months in prison.
The Middlesex Sessions register of 1840 is anotated with "als Siney" in the name column. Her degree of instruction was "Imp". She was aged 26 when sentenced to 6 months imprisonment on 6 July 1840 with her crime listed as "Larceny by servant"
