Notes
- DD\DP/44/9 Marriage settlement re burbage on west side of High Street Taunton
In 1819 Mary Turle and William Field wanted to marry but Mary had property and money and was much older than William. The agreement puts the property in the name of her brothers, Richard, grocer and James, victualler and John White Newton, a grocer of Wiveliscombe. It is a very large document with lots of clauses built in to protect Mary. John, William's father, signs on his behalf of his son as he is underage.
