. - On 5 Oct 1807 James was a witness of the marriage, at Wilton, of John Garland and Sarah Wall.
. - On 1 Apr 1811 James was a witness of the marriage, at Wilton, of William Buddle and Mary Gait.
. - In 1814 James was a widower when he gave a donation to the Taunton Hospital.
The will of James' father mentions James' children Hannah and Mary - In 1819 James Turle wrote to Richard Arthur Esq, Mayor of Portsmouth in answer to his letter regarding the whereabouts of Painter of Clayhidon, Yeatman, William Read and Joseph Higgs.6

In 1819 Mary Turle and William Field wanted to marry but Mary had property and money and was much older than William. The agreement puts the property in the name of her brothers, Richard, grocer and James, victualler and John White Newton, a grocer of Wiveliscombe. It is a very large document with lots of clauses built in to protect Mary. John, William's father, signs on his behalf of his son as he is underage. - Will of William Turle 1814
